After I graduated dental school, I came out as a general dentist, not really knowing what was really out there. Whenever I was a fourth year dental school student, I was pretty much done with my requirements, kind of bored with what's going on in dental school so I actually looked into taking more advanced training. My fourth year of dental school I was actually able to finish the Mish program, which is an implant program to learn more about the surgical aspect in the dental field.
After I graduated, I was so fascinated by the surgical aspect, things like that, and I've always had an eagerness to learn, always been wanting to make sure that if anyone asked me a question that I would have an answer for them in regards to any specific treatment that they were needing or wanting to receive, whether it was cosmetic, surgical, straightening of the teeth, really anything in and of itself.
I started venturing on, started learning more. I'm a big continuing education guy. In most of my patients that you talk to, they always know that I'm going to be gone during the weekends, always flying to different places to learn or to teach, to just really receive an education because I'm a firm believer in education, that we should always be growing ourselves. I'm the type person, I want to make sure that I know the top of the line techniques, we're using the best of the best technology that's available to us. Doctor Imami himself and myself, our philosophy is really, “Be the best. Provide the best and don't sacrifice the quality of care that's out there, so that we can provide every individual with top of the line techniques and technology.“
I've been all around the world just learning about how other practitioners do things. Whenever it comes to orthodontics, I've had advanced training in making sure that we can straighten the teeth, whether it's just for making them look good, the functionality. Patients who are young who actually have skeletal issues, we are actually able to treat patients like that. If it wasn't for my advanced training in these areas, I wouldn't be able to take care of those individuals and they would be looking at surgical aspects to treat them when we can look at doing minimally invasive type treatments whenever they're younger. It's just been a blessing.
I love learning new things. I learn something new every single day. I want to continue that. I want to make sure that whenever something new does come out that I'm on the forefront and I'm moving forward learning those things.
Whenever it comes to the implant field, so many patients come in to my office and they tell me, “I've been told 'No' by every single person. I've been told that I'm, there's no hope.“ Because I've been trained in such a way in the surgical aspect and orthodontics and pretty much every field of dentistry, I'm able to tell them with great happiness that we're able to take care of them. Creating that hope within a person, you change someone's life. Because of my education, because of my constant training, I've been able to change so many people's lives just because of that fact. It creates something so amazing within myself that I'm able to tell someone 'Yes', that I'm able to create hope and that they are happy.
We see a lot of hugs. We get a lot of hugs. We see a lot of tears of happiness that we're able to provide so many different options for patients. There's a plethora of options that are out there and we've been able to customize treatment plants based off of what that patient needs, what that patient wants.
We're able to achieve the goals whenever they come in and they have a specific goal that they're wanting to achieve, beautiful smile, functionality, haven't been able to eat, dentures falling out of the mouth, crooked teeth. We're able to say, “Yes. Yes. Yes. We have a plan for you. We have exactly what you need.“ Whether it's a small treatment plan or whether it's a large treatment plan, we work it with every single patient.
I'm continuing to learn, continuing to grow because I know that I'm able to provide more and more and more. With all of the things that we have available in this day and age, everything is growing. So much beautiful technology is being created. I believe that I will, for the rest of my life, make sure that I am top of the line moving forward because I always want the best for my patients.
We create wonderful relationships with individuals. We go way beyond the fact that patient doctor type relationships. This is a family office. We want to make sure that we have friends and family and people who love us. We love them. It creates a great experience for every single person that walks through our doors.

As I entered into my ... After high school and college and I came to this country, long, many years ago. When I ... It was about 1978 when I came to this country and I always wanted to seek and follow the profession in medical field, and as far as that goes, because of my age, I didn't want to do 20, 30 years of studies, so I thought dentistry could make it happen, due to the fact that I could use my skills. I wanted to work with my hands, and I wanted to do surgery, and I wanted to have patient contact, and so on and so forth. So I thought dentistry would be the best field for me, and I loved artistic, you know, the skills that I had, to be utilized in that fashion. So I picked the field of dentistry, and it's been amazing.
Another great thing about dentistry is that we are dealing with people who are really not that sick or ill, so you can have much better contact or connection with them, and have a great time with them. Not that I don't like to serve others, but this makes it more comfortable in a way, to reach people and be able to address other issues in their lives, and that's the best thing I've done.
